Who Are We?

We are the Bryan family; Beau, JeanAnn, Sawyer, and Wesley, from Tea, SD. In 2019, both of our boys were diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), a fatal muscle-wasting disease.

What is Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD)?

DMD is a devastating genetic disease that progressively destroys muscle, robbing children of their ability to walk, move, and eventually breathe. There is no cure, and many do not survive beyond early adulthood.

Is There A Cure?

Not yet. Our boys have an ultra-rare genetic mutation requiring a treatment developed specifically for them. Without treatment, their muscles will continue to deteriorate.

What is CRISPR?

CRISPR is a revolutionary technology that gives scientists the ability to edit faulty DNA. For our boys, it offers hope of correcting the genetic mistake causing their muscles to deteriorate. This treatment could help stop Duchenne from stealing more of their strength, mobility, and future.
